BREAKING NEWS: Coach Milovan Rajevac Has Been Sacked By GFA
Milovan Rajevac, the head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, has been fired by the Ghana Football Association.
His dismissal came as a result of a meeting between the Ministry of Sports and the GFA following the team’s dismal performance at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, albeit it was not formally announced by the FA.
According to information gathered by this portal from the meeting on Friday, the Ministry on behalf of the government ordered the coach and the whole management team of the Black Stars to be fired.
Although the FA officials objected to the ministry’s position, the Sports Ministry, led by Minister Mustapha Ussif, pushed on the termination.
At the present edition in Cameroon, Milovan Rajevac led Ghana to one of its worst performances in the AFCON tournament.
The four-time AFCON champions only managed one point in Group C, which included Morocco, Gabon, and the Comoros.
Ghana was eliminated from the competition after losing to Morocco and debutants Comoros in the group stages.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to release a statement announcing the dismissal before lunchtime.
