Finally, the current President John Dramani Mahama has removed Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo from office amidst strong opposition from the previous NPP government.
The action of President Mahama follows a committee’s recommendation, which found her guilty of stated misbehaviour after investigating a petition.
The President acted in accordance with Article 146(9) of the 1992 Constitution, with the removal taking immediate effect.
The bigger question is who is going to be the next Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana.
