Bongo Youth Alliance (BOYA) Calls on Government to Fix Life-Threatening Bongo Feo-Soe Road

The Bongo Youth Alliance (BOYA), a youth-led organization dedicated to sustainable development and improving the quality of life in the Bongo District, has issued an urgent appeal to the government to address the deplorable state of the Bongo Feo-Soe Road. The organization warns that the road’s worsening condition poses a severe risk to residents, commuters, and businesses, and immediate intervention is needed to prevent further accidents and potential loss of life.

    A Road Turned Death Trap

Bongo Feo-Soe, a community within the Bongo District of the Upper East Region, has long suffered from poor road infrastructure. However, the situation has drastically worsened due to repeated heavy rainfall, which has eroded parts of the road linking Bongo Feo-Soe to Bongo. The most alarming damage is a massive gutter that has formed on one side of the road, now occupying more than half of its width.

This hazardous development has turned the road into a death trap. Vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles frequently struggle to navigate the narrow remaining path, often leading to accidents. Several cars and motorbikes have slipped into the gutter, resulting in injuries

and significant damage to property. With each passing day, the road’s condition deteriorates further, increasing the likelihood of more severe incidents.

    Residents Express Fear and Frustration

The people of Bongo Feo-Soe are growing increasingly anxious about the dangers posed by the damaged road. Many fear that if no action is taken soon, a major tragedy is inevitable.

“We live in constant fear every time we use this road,” a worried resident lamented. “It’s only a matter of time before someone loses their life. We are pleading with the government—both at the district and regional levels, and most especially this NDC administration—to come to our aid. The previous government failed us, and we cannot afford to be ignored again. This road must be fixed, and if possible, it should be tiled for long-term durability.”

Parents are particularly concerned about their children, who use the road to commute to school. Farmers and traders also struggle to transport their goods, affecting local businesses and livelihoods. The lack of proper road infrastructure has made it difficult for emergency services to respond quickly to incidents, further endangering lives.

A Call for Immediate Government Intervention

BOYA strongly believes that addressing the road’s condition is not just a matter of convenience but an urgent safety issue. The organization stresses that a well-maintained road will prevent further accidents and injuries, improve access to education, healthcare, and emergency services, boost economic activities by facilitating transportation for farmers and traders and enhance overall quality of life for residents

“We urge the government to take swift action,” said Elia Azabire, Acting Executive Director of the Bongo Youth Alliance (BOYA). “The people of Bongo Feo deserve safe and accessible roads, even if they are not tiled. Delaying repairs any further could result in more accidents, injuries, and even fatalities. We cannot wait for a disaster before action is taken.”BOYA calls on the government, district authorities, and relevant stakeholders to prioritize the rehabilitation of this crucial road before more lives are put at risk. The time for action is now.

Akua Donkor’s Daughter Condemns Delay, Seeks Apology Following Mother’s Death

After the recent passing of Ghanaian politician Akua Donkor, her daughter, Ama Bonsu, addressed a longstanding issue with TV host Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay. In a heartfelt video, Ama expressed her family’s disappointment over past comments made by Delay during an interview with Akua Donkor, noting that the family has not forgiven her.

According to YEN, during her appearance on *The Delay Show* years ago, Delay questioned if Akua Donkor was a witch. Although Akua Donkor denied it, she was deeply hurt but remained silent. Later, she confided that the incident left a lasting impact, even leading her to curse Delay. Despite public calls for Delay to apologize at the time, none was given.

Ama stated that the family, out of respect for Akua Donkor’s wishes, chose not to pursue the matter while she was alive. Now, following her mother’s passing, Ama believes Delay owes the family a public apology to bring closure. She added that if no apology is forthcoming, the family may be forced to act against the presenter.

PASTOR LOVE SENTENCED TO 48 MONTHS IN PRISON FOR STEALING A CAR

Pastor Hammond Love, commonly known as Pastor Love, has been sentenced to 48 months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court for stealing a car. In 2017, he faced legal issues for selling a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

According to the prosecution, Samuel Amankwah, the complainant, imported a Toyota Highlander into the country in 2016 and entrusted Pastor Love with its clearance. After clearing the vehicle, Amankwah instructed Pastor Love to sell it for $50,000, keeping the clearance fees.

However, Amankwah later changed his mind and planned to return to Ghana in April 2017 to personally pay Pastor Love for the clearance. Upon his arrival, he found that Pastor Love could not account for the car, despite repeated requests.
