Speaking to Neesim news,Neesim news, Mr. Dauda Issaku a field officer with ORGIS said they intended to solve the problem with some interventions and key among them is providing a metro station in the community to help them read the weather conditions in order to predict the weather and be guided as far as their farming practices and issues of settlement is concerned.
He said they would be linking up with the Agric department and the National disaster management organization (NADMO) so that they can also help the people in maintaining the project. He further said Kunkua was selected because of its strategic location along the White Volta and that if this project succeeds it would be replicated in other districts in the region.
The chief and tindaana of Kunkua community Abenaab James thanked ORGIS Ghana for the project and said erosion has taken over the whole community to the extent that the foundation of the school is hanging because of climate change.
The Assemblyman for the community Anabia Solomon Sampana also thanked ORGIS Ghana for coming to sensitize the community about climate change.
He advised the people that most of the problems are caused by the community members and that cause drought and floods and said the project is going to be undertaken by the indigenes themselves.
