Police Officer Killed In Rekindle Bawku Clash.
A young female police officer has been shot dead at Bawku in the Upper East region amidst the resurgence of the yet to end chieftaincy conflict.
The deceased identified as constable Regina Angenu who is stationed at Paga according to police reports visited a colleague identified as Constable Erasmus Enkson of the Bawku division in Bawku.
The duo was however attacked by a group of unknown assailants at around 5:07 pm.
The deceased was shot in the groin and was rushed to the Presbyterian Mission Hospital where she met her untimely death whiles receiving treatment.
The body has been sent to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
Unconfirmed reports from other sources have also indicate that eight people have sustained various degrees of injuries during the tension and have all been rush to the Presbyterian Mission Hospital for treatment.
The conflict in Bawku was rekindled at the early hours of Monday, the 24th of January 2022 resulting in the lost of lives and property whiles insecurity has rising to the maximum.
Thirteen people have so far been arrested and airlifted to Accra following the incidence whiles curfews have also been implemented to help prevent the conflict from escalating.
