Reports reaching our news desk confirms that the Bolgatanga Technical Institute also known as BOTECH has been shut down indefinitely after a violent student riot which started on Thursday August 14, 2025.
The riot continued to Friday 15th, August forcing the school to be closed down to avert any further disruptions.
The schools library which has served students for many years have been destroyed by fire set by the angry students.

The senior housemates office was not spared by the violent students.
We don’t know what might have caused the riot but we will update you subsequently on this.
