American comedian Michael Blackson coming back to Ghana, reveals his plans
Blackson said in a tweet on Wednesday that he will visit his school and the government building, among other places.
Blackson tweeted, “I’m going to Ghana on Monday. Who wants to go with me? We’ll visit my school, tour the slave castle, go to the jubilee, which is the Ghana White House, and we’ll party and celebrate Ghana’s freedom.”
Early this year, the comedian established his own school in his native Agona Nsaba, Central Region, which would provide all children who desire to enroll with free tuition.
“I have achieved what I always wanted to do, which is giving these kids an opportunity to be great. This is the best day of my life.” Education is the basis for greatness, and access to a basic education shouldn’t be restricted by financial constraints, the description of his tweet stated.
Previous to this, he had expressed thanks to people in December 2022 who had helped him realize his ambition.
“Finally, it’s all done and the kids in my village will all go to school for free,” he wrote. “Thanks to all my fans that supported me thru out the years, every ticket you bought to my show helped a kid.”
Michael Blackson Academy, a three-storey complex is fully furnished and open to the general public.
