Legon School Officials Address Controversy Over Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy Legon Hall Week Concert Cancellation
Prof. Rosina Kyerematen, Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Ghana, Legon, has issued a statement regarding the Legon Hall Week event following Shatta Wale’s accusations against Stonebwoy for the event’s cancellation.
Shatta Wale, in several videos, expressed his anger at Stonebwoy, alleging that his Reunion Rave or Artiste Night show was canceled due to Stonebwoy’s interference.
The dancehall artist claimed in the videos that Stonebwoy had sabotaged him, leading to the cancellation of his event, despite both having separate shows on the same campus.
“Stonebwoy told the school’s management to cancel my concert or he wouldn’t perform,” Shatta Wale alleged in a TikTok video shared by sarknation on Instagram.
His manager, Sammy Flex, reportedly added to the situation by claiming that school security would cause disruptions if Shatta Wale attended the gig.

In a turn of events, the Dean of Student Affairs issued a letter announcing the cancellation of the concert, attributing the decision to the organizers.
The letter, dated June 7th, stated that the Dean of Student Affairs was unaware that the performance was part of the approved program outline.
“It has come to the attention of the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs that, contrary to following the directive for the ‘TWO-DAY ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT’ event scheduled from 7th-8th June 2024, the executives of the James Topp Nelson Yankah Hall organized a program not included in the list of approved programs,” the letter stated.
The statement went on to say, “The Reunion Rave or Artiste Night was not included in the program outline submitted by the ICR for approval, so the Reunion Rave or Artiste Night has been canceled immediately.”
The letter also warned that severe penalties would be imposed on anyone who proceeds with Shatta Wale’s event.
“Attached is the program outline and flyer for the Reunion Rave or Artiste Night. Any violation of this directive will result in severe sanctions,” the statement said.
