Teacher Professional Allowance Drops as Validation Begins. The Teacher professional Allowance of Ghc800 for Non Professional Teachers and Ghc1, 200 for professional teachers within Ghana Education Service has appeared in the list for Validation.
An Amount of Ghc 1, 100 was paid whilst an Amount of Ghc100 was deducted for the licensure certificate.
The Amount is for teacher professional development and for Non professional teachers to gear towards being professionals.
It can be recalled that the minister for Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh Assured that the Professional allowance will be payed before Elections.
He however suggested teachers should remember the allowance as they head to the polls in december to elect a president.
President Nana Akufo-Addo as part of Efforts to clear teacher related arrears directed the controller And accountant general department to pay over 1 billion Ghana Cedis to teachers as arrears owed from the period of 2016 to 2020.
Ghanaian Teachers in 2018 were Introduced to the teachers licensure exams, an exam that will qualify one to teach in a classroom, the exams to undertake are on Numeracy, Literacy and Essential Skills.
