Akua Donkor’s Daughter Condemns Delay, Seeks Apology Following Mother’s Death
After the recent passing of Ghanaian politician Akua Donkor, her daughter, Ama Bonsu, addressed a longstanding issue with TV host Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay. In a heartfelt video, Ama expressed her family’s disappointment over past comments made by Delay during an interview with Akua Donkor, noting that the family has not forgiven her.
According to YEN, during her appearance on *The Delay Show* years ago, Delay questioned if Akua Donkor was a witch. Although Akua Donkor denied it, she was deeply hurt but remained silent. Later, she confided that the incident left a lasting impact, even leading her to curse Delay. Despite public calls for Delay to apologize at the time, none was given.
Ama stated that the family, out of respect for Akua Donkor’s wishes, chose not to pursue the matter while she was alive. Now, following her mother’s passing, Ama believes Delay owes the family a public apology to bring closure. She added that if no apology is forthcoming, the family may be forced to act against the presenter.
Akua Donkor, founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, passed away on October 28, 2024, evoking an outpouring of emotion from the public, with scenes of mourning from her family home.
The resurfacing of this controversy has sparked divided opinions on social media. Some argue that the issue should have been addressed while Akua Donkor was alive, while others feel Delay has nothing to apologize for. The situation underscores the complex nature of personal conflicts involving public figures and raises questions about how such disputes should be handled publicly.
