The Ghana Freedom Party has pulled out of the December 7th elections

The statement reads:

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL FROM THE 2024 DECEMBER 7 ELECTIONS

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), after careful deliberation and consultation with the family of our late flagbearer, Madam Akua Donkor, has decided to withdraw from the upcoming December 7 Parliamentary and Presidential elections.

This difficult decision was reached to honor the memory and commitment of our founder and presidential candidate. Madam Akua Donkor dedicated her life to the cause and principles of the Ghana Freedom Party, and we believe this posthumous gesture respects her legacy as the only candidate to carry her vision to the end.

Through this official notice, we are informing the Electoral Commission of our intention not to participate in the December elections. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to the Commission’s electoral calendar and process, and we hope for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

The Ghana Freedom Party remains committed to the principles of love and unity, encapsulated in our motto, “Ny33 NONO.” We look forward to participating in future elections organized by the Electoral Commission and will continue working toward the vision set by our late founder.

Signed on behalf of the NEC:
