Safo Newman Reveals What Happened After His Studio Session With Sarkodie
Nine months after his studio session with Sarkodie sparked widespread excitement, Safo Newman has revealed that their meeting did not lead to any music project.
The two met at Sarkodie’s studio in February 2024 after Safo expressed a desire to personally thank the rapper for acknowledging him.
Reflecting on the encounter, Safo explained, “Sarkodie tweeted that I was original, liked my style, and was interested in working with me. I was grateful and sent him a DM to thank him, but I felt that wasn’t enough. So, I asked if I could meet him in person to show my appreciation.”
Following their meeting, rumors circulated that they had collaborated on a groundbreaking track set to be released later in the year.
However, in a recent interview on Hitz FM, Safo clarified that no such collaboration occurred. He emphasized that their meeting was purely a conversation, stating, “nothing happened” in terms of recording.
When asked whether his denial was to align with Sarkodie’s known practice of keeping collaborations secret until official announcements, Safo reiterated that no unreleased track exists.
Although visibly disappointed, the ‘Akokoa’ hitmaker remains hopeful that Sarkodie will one day bless him with a verse.
