Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, has undeniably one of the world’s largest music businesses, with a slew of big-name musicians who have made fortunes and amassed significant sums of money, as well as some of the highest-paid performers.
However, as the controversy over who gets paid the most in Africa’s music industry rages on, Nigerian music icon Burna Boy, also known as “African Giant,” has declared himself the continent’s highest-paid singer.
Burna Boy claimed emphatically on his Twitter page that, despite the fact that money does not please him, he is the most paid performer in African music history.
“I said money doesn’t satisfy me and it’s my Truth but it Doesn’t change the fact that I’m the highest paid artist in the History of African music. Believe it or not.” – Burna Boy tweeted
