The cause of the shooting is unknown, however family members of the dead told JoyNews that they just learned of the tragedy through social media and from the late officer’s coworkers.

Since then, the family has been rocked by sadness and overwhelming emotions.

Walanyo, a JoyNews correspondent who spoke with the family, corroborated the occurrence.

Despite the fact that the family has yet to get official notification from the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), he claimed the news of Michael’s alleged death has left them in anguish and sorrow.

Richard Otu, the Officer’s older brother, voiced concern about the information reaching the family, he said.

Mr Michael Otu, the youngest of four children, began working for the Ghana Immigration Service in 2016. He is married and has one child.

Micheal Otu was a member of the Hamile detachment of the Ghana Immigration Service’s Operation Conquered Fist.

The Ghana Immigration Service has not yet paid a visit to the family to verify the incidence.
