Rihanna Has Stated Why She Refuses To Hide Her Pregnancy In Public
Rihanna, a Barbadian billionaire musician, has stated why she refuses to hide her pregnancy in public.
After photographs of her midriff-baring with her boyfriend, ASAP Rocky, went viral on the internet, the singer announced in January that she was expecting her first child.
Following her pregnancy announcement, she attended several public events with her baby belly on display.
Rihanna said in an interview for Vogue’s May cover story that she decided not to shop for maternity clothes after learning she was expecting.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, there’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle. I’m sorry—it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing,” she said.
The businesswoman went on to say that she considers pregnancy to be a joyous occasion that should not be disguised.
She also suggested that society reinvent itself.
“what is considered decent” for pregnant women.
“My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that,” she said “This time should feel celebratory. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?
Rihanna commended her stylist, Jahleel Weever, for always crafting her looks as to how she continues to dazzle in her clothes.
“I know he loses sleep over it because my measurements can literally change from hour to hour. In fact, I’m sure he’s going to ask for a raise after this!”
Rihanna revealed that her pregnancy has gone quite smoothly thanks to the support of her friends and family.
When asked what about pregnancy scares her the most, Rihana answered,
“Postpartum depression. Will I feel out of control emotionally? Those are the stories I hear from other women that scare me.”
