
Hearts of Oak Beats Bechem United to win the FA Cup for a record 12th time
Hearts of Oak extended their record as the most successful team in the competition by defeating Bechem United 2-1 to win a record 12th FA Cup championship.

After trailing in the first half thanks to Emmanuel Avornyo, the Phobians battled back to win the match.
The lanky forward slid in on a rebound to score the game’s first goal.
The first half ended with the two clubs splitting the points after Caleb Amankwah’s volley goal for Hearts of Oak in the final minute of play equalized the score.
With a spectacular goal in the 60th minute, Daniel Afriyie Barnie gave The Phobians the advantage.
After attacking the assistant line one, Augustine Okrah was dismissed in the 68th minute. The Bechem United winger was sent off after head-butting the official.
Hearts of Oak maintained the advantage to capture their 12th MTN FA Cup championship.
The Phobians, the competition’s victors, will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup the following year.
