Shatta Wale And Three Others Have Been Remanded In Custody For Five Days For Gunshot Joke.
Shatta Wale, a dancehall performer, and three other suspects have been placed in police prison for a week.
On their first appearance in court, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, they were remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.
On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, a fourth accomplice, who is also a member of Wale’s team, was apprehended.
Shatta Wale has pleaded not guilty to the charge of spreading false information and inciting panic.
His co-conspirators, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, have been charged with abetment of crime and will be held in police custody for the next week.
They both denied the charge and pleaded not guilty.
The four individuals are scheduled to return to court on October 26, 2021.
The musician and his team have already been held in police custody for two nights.
Shatta Wale was arrested on Tuesday in Accra after police declared they were hunting for him for his role in the propagation of false information that he had been shot in East Legon.
