Students From AZENASCO In The Bongo District Are Fighting With The Community Over Water And Are Pleading With The Government To Intervene.
Azeem Namoa Senior High /Technical School (AZENASCO) students have petitioned the Bongo District Assembly to come to their aid and provide them with water. The scarcity of water on campus, according to the students, is harming their academic performance.
Speaking to Neesim FM some of the students expressed their sad emotions and how they struggle to get water. The student said they sometimes exchange words with the community members before they will get water.
The student stated that maintaining personal and environmental hygiene is difficult for them. Reducing student dehydration in schools has been linked to improved cognitive abilities.
According to the student, they wear soiled clothes to class owing to a lack of water, and cleansing their restroom is extremely tough for them.
The student stated that they have continued to walk outside to obtain water since its inception in 2012. According to the students, they get up at 4:00 a.m. and walk a considerable distance outside of campus to fetch water, which has an impact on their learning, particularly during class periods
The pupils are begging with the Bongo District Assembly, non-governmental organizations, and the general public to help them.
