
First Lady, Rebecca Foundation Cuts Sod For A New Children’s Library At New Abirem.
Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo’s foundation, led by Ghana Ambassador to South Africa, His Excellency Charles Oweridu, Ghana Libray Authority Boss, Mr Siaw and Director of Operations Of Rebecca Foundation, Mrs Akosua Newman has cut sod for a new children’s library in New Abirem, Birim North District Assembly.

The Rebecca Foundation is funding the 40-seater library, which will be equipped with computers and will serve as a learning center for youngsters in New Abirem.
It would also give the youngsters the confidence they need to succeed in life.
Charles Kofi Acheampong, The District Education Director, expressed his delight with the new library project and emphasized the importance of libraries, stating that they assist students in conducting research, invention, and creativity, as well as preserving cultural heritage, among other things. He promised that they would do everything possible to keep the library in good working order at all times.
Nana Amo Kyeretwee I I, the Chief of Abirem, expressed his gratitude to Her Excellency Rebecca Akuffo Addo for considering his community and providing them with a modern library. He went on to say that it will be extremely beneficial to the community. He urged the contractor to work efficiently so that the project might be completed quickly.
Mr Siaw, the head of the Ghana Library Authority, promised that the library would be provided with new volumes to keep up with those in the capital (Accra). He praises First Lady Rebecca Akuffo-Addo for establishing 48 libraries across the country. The President of the Republic of Ghana is also providing a mobile library service. Since 2017, he has supported and invested in the education of school students, particularly girls, through the Rebecca Foundation.
Mentoring, skills training, and financial assistance have also been provided by the Foundation to students who have dropped out of school and are unable to return.
Mrs. Akosua Newman, the Rebecca Foundation’s Operational Director, also gave her voice, saying that the First Lady’s mission of assisting her husband in achieving their goals is on track, and that education and women empowerment are her hallmarks. As a result, ASR Foundation teamed up with Her Excellency Foundation to make these dreams a reality.
The contractor, You Won Construction, promised that the work would be finished in 100 days, or about 4 months.
